The CPM rail is a device that generates a continuous passive movement of the limb undergoing therapy. It is used in early orthopedic rehabilitation to enable the limbs to be fully functional (including joints) after:

• implantation of a knee or hip endoprosthesis,
• reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL),
• prolonged immobilization, eg in plaster.
