Platelet-rich plasma

Vaginal dryness, sagging or damage to its tissues after childbirth or surgery – these are usually embarrassing ailments that many women struggle with. Many of them also do not know that it is possible to restore natural features to sensitive intimate areas – such as moisture and elasticity, guaranteeing the proper and desired functionality of this area of the body.

The causes of ailments

The reasons for this type of intimate ailments include:

  • the patient’s age (vaginal dryness and loss of firmness is one of the problems associated with menopause and hormonal changes in the body),
  • inflammation and taking antibiotics and other medications.

Negative changes in this extremely sensitive area increase the susceptibility of tissues to damage and the dissatisfaction with sexual intercourse.

Remedy

The help for women struggling with these problems is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) – an autologous preparation: obtained from the patient’s own blood. The advantage of its use is primarily the low invasiveness of this method: PRP does not cause side effects or allergic reactions.

In order to obtain the platelet-rich plasma necessary for the procedure, a small sample is collected and then centrifuged using specialized equipment. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain a biocompatible preparation – which is applied to the vaginal tissues and / or the vicinity of the labia by means of injections (small punctures).

Biological molecules contained in the plasma (mainly growth factors) activate the process of renewal of epidermal and mucosa cells, stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen, and stimulating the body to create new blood vessels. Thus, they lead to cell regeneration, making the vaginal walls better moisturized and toned. In addition, platelet-rich plasma restores the appropriate pH and has a positive effect on the bacterial microflora.

The treatment is recommended for women for whom it is important to:

  • rejuvenation of flabby tissues as a result of the passage of time,
  • healing damage after inflammation,
  • regeneration of tissues after childbirth,
  • elimination of dryness that impedes sexual activity.

The best and long-lasting effects are achieved by repeating the treatment three times at intervals of 7-10 days. The average duration of the procedure is approximately one hour.

Contraindications

Contraindication to undergoing the treatment with the use of platelet-rich plasma is pregnancy and lactation, the problem may also be taking blood-thinning medications or steroids on a permanent basis. Therefore, tell your doctor that you are taking them.
